As the Roman Empire fell, various groups from north and east moved into former roman lands.As they moved in,these groups started to create their own states.The rulers of these states called themselves kings(they were powerful warlords).These kings often fought among themselves which as a result 500s Europe was divided into small kingdoms.The kingdoms marked the middle ages,a period that lasted from 500 to 1500.We call this 'middle ages' because it falls between the ancient times and modern times.Another name for the middle ages is the medieval times latin word middle ages.At the beginning of the middle ages many of the kingdoms of northern Europe were not christians.As time passed christianity spread slowly through northern Europe.These spread was because of two groups christians-missionaries and monks.

Missionaries contribute the middle ages by spreading christianity to northern Europe.Some even went large distance to spread christianity they walked miles just to convert people to christianity.One of the first places the pope sent missionaries was Britain.These missionaries traveled all over the Island and eventually most Britain people became christians.In fact one of the missionaries that traveled to northern Europe was Patrick,who took it upon himself and not the pope to teach people about christianity. In the mid's 400s Patrick traveled alone to Britain to Ireland to convert people there.He eventually converted the Irish people to christianity.

Even While Charlemagne was building his empire though,new threats appeared in Europe.Invaders began to attack settlements all over the continent.Muslims armies poured into southern France and northern Italy.Fierce warriors called to magyars swept into Europe from the East,attacking towns and destroying fields.From Britain,Ireland,and other parts of Eastern Europe.They looted Sowns and monasteries and took prisoners to sell into slavery.The attacks were swift and savage,and Europeans lived in terror of vikings raids. Because Vikings could sail their ships up rivers. Vikings also reached Inland cities and attacked cities in the Iberian and Italian Peninsulas.

The Plague affected the impact of the work force by spreading rapidly making the people dye without none doing the jobs there was too much job to be done in the kingdom that they did not know what to do. But for the people that were still alive they had payed better wages because there was no more people in the city that was available to do that work.And there was too much deaths that there was jobs that included throwing the deaths into holes or throw them into the river so that they could get rid of their bodies.So for the people that were still alive they got paid better that they had money to buy anything but the things is that there is no more stuffs to buy because there is no one that will do the jobs to make the stuffs and plant crops.
